Coloruid

     Coloruid- screenshot

Coloruid is a puzzle app a lot like Floodit.  The object is to get everything as one color.  With Floodit, the number of moves was not always predetermined.  In Coloruid, there is always a minimum number of moves.

What I like about Coloruid:
1. There are only 36 levels.
2. The graphics are nice.

Tilemetry by Ted Neustaedter

iPhone Screenshot 2  iPhone Screenshot 3
Ted Neustaedter recently contacted me about his puzzle app game Tilemetry.  The object is to get the numbers to add up to the matching sum at the right and at the bottom.

Look closely: each tile has 2 numbers which always add up to 9.

There are a ton of levels.  The 2x2 grids are obviously quite simple.  It starts to get interesting at the 3x3 levels.  If you like those, you can also do 3x4, 3x5, 3x6, 3x7, 3x8 and 3x9.

I did the section of 4x4 which is more interesting. Of course the grid sizes get really big. The largest is 9x9.

Tilemetry is definitely an interesting math puzzle. This would be a perfect game for elementary school math whizzes. But you can still have fun with it as an non math whiz adult.

Hex 22 by Sang Moon Joo

Sang Moon Joo's description:
Hex 22 is a simple number puzzle game.
[How to play]
- 2 or more same numbers connect.
- Number block of the last part become +1. and rest blocks disappear.
- When no more connected, game is over.

I've added a scoring sheet for how many points you'd get for various things.   For example, merging two 5's to form a single 6 will give 32 points.

My high score at the moment is around 91,000. But that was when I had no strategy.  When I developed a strategy, my high score did not top even 60,000.  Reminds me of the game SPL-T. Overthinking that game, I got worse and worse.

Hex 22 can take a long time to play just one game, but it's definitely addictive.

Addendum, last night & this morning I had a great game going. Could've died several times, but got lucky. Or was is that I was using some probability game theory to optimize my chances of getting lucky? My score was 86,000, and I still had adjacent 13's to combine.  Suddenly, the program crashed. I re-opened it and the game was gone.
